Bruins Shut Out Canucks in Battle of NHL Conference Leaders

The Boston Bruins, the leaders in the NHL’s Eastern Conference, hosted the Western Conference Leading Vancouver Canucks on February 8th. Both teams came into this one playing good hockey, with Vancouver winning 10 of 12 and Boston 8 of 10.

This one, however, was all Bruins. Boston scored two shorthanded goals in the first period, David Pastrnak and Charlie Coyle each had a pair of assists, and Pavel Zacha had a goal and an assist as the Bruins cruised to a 4-0 victory. Goalie Linus Ullmark only had to stop 17 shots to pick up his first shutout of the season.

At the end of the day, Boston and Vancouver were tied for the beat record in the league with 73 points each. The Canucks will get a chance to even up the two game season series when they host Boston on February 24th.
