Brittany Murphy Poisoning Theory Called Ridiculous by CNN Expert

Brittany Murphy

Shocking allegations of murder in the sudden death of 32-year-old actress Brittany Murphy have been made by her father, Angelo Bertolotti, who obtained an independent lab report supporting his position. The Los Angeles County coroner ruled that pneumonia and severe anemia were the causes of Murphy’s death in December 2009. Five months later, Murphy’s 39-year-old husband, Simon Monjack also died. The coroner gave the same cause of death for him.

CNN somehow obtained a copy of the report by forensic toxicologist Ernest Lykissa, who tested a hair sample supplied by Murphy’s father and found that it contained higher than recommended levels of 10 heavy metals. They sent the report to an expert, Dr. Bruce Goldberger, director of forensic medicine at the University of Florida, as well as the president of the American Board of Forensic Toxicology. Dr. Goldberger called the report “ridiculous” and “baseless,” also saying that “A hair test alone, without any clinical signs or symptoms, cannot be used to establish poisoning.”

Brittany Murphy’s father does have a suspect in mind but declined to supply a name, which is weird. Obviously he does not feel it was Brittany’s husband because Monjack is dead and there would be no reason for him not to say so if he believed Monjack was responsible.

Many people have found it awfully strange that both of them died so young with the same cause of death within months of each other, and both in the same bedroom of their home. The Los Angeles County coroner’s office apparently does not. They made a statement indicating they have no plans to reopen the Murphy or Monjack cases and will stand by their conclusions.
