Jamie Foxx and his daughter Corinne were back on 6/26/2018 for another rockin’ episode of Beat Shazam. The contestants were all couples and we are going by their state abbreviations this time– two of the guys have the same name.

NJ: Daisy & Rahmael, married 3 months, from Bloomfield in North Jersey
CO: Ryan & Michael, from Colorado Springs right near Pike’s Peak
NC: Donna & Ryan, a divorced couple from the state capital, Raleigh/li>

First 6 are worth $2000 each. The last one (Fast Track) is worth $4000.

Donna & Ryan were the speed demons this time and nailed it in 2.03 to break that tie

Incredibly, Ryan & Michael picked that one up. What was incredible was they were the only ones that knew it!

The Shazam Shuffle round ended with Colorado and North Carolina in a tie and Team Jersey only 2 grand behind.

Round 2: Dance Crazes
Two votes went to Dance Crazes over R&B. Team NC was gonna pick Dance Crazes, too, so it was really unanimous. Third place goes home at the end of the round.

Team Colorado for the lone solve

That went to Ryan & Michael (1.55). The other teams came in at 3 or more seconds!

So, Team Colorado came out on top in this round and it was back to the Garden State for Daisy and Rahmael.

Round 3: The ’80s.
Only one person from each remaining team could play this round. It was Colorado Ryan vs. North Carolina Donna. First 4: $5000 each. Fast Track: $10,000.

The teams are not that far apart now, eh? There’s only a $7K difference. Let’s see what happens in the next round where the money is going UP!

After dominating that round, Donna & Ryan (Team NC) were going on to try to beat Shazam and get in a higher tax bracket. Ryan & Michael were heading back to Colorado with $17,500.

One Million Beat Shazam Round – 6 songs
First 5: $25,000 each. They only get a shot at the million if they get all 5 right. There are no multiple choice screens and they have to know the song’s exact title before Shazam to be right.
1. OLDIES: “Heartbreak Hotel” (Elvis Presley) – Ryan was on it faster than you could shake your pelvis. (They were married by Elvis in Las Vegas) $107,000
2. RAP: “It Wasn’t Me” (Shaggy ft. Ricardo “Rikrok” Ducent) – Donna got that one $132,000
3. HAIR BANDS: “Cherry Pie” (Warrant) – Donna was big on Hair Bands back in the day so this was easy as pie for her $157,000
4. COUNTRY: “Wide Open Spaces” (Dixie Chicks) – And Donna got it. Wow! For the first time this season, one song separates the winning team from a chance at the million! $182,000
5. MICHAEL JACKSON: “Rockin’ Robin” – Tweet tweet. they began the round with $82,000 and finished with $207,000.

Donna & Ryan now have the first chance of Season 2 to win a cool million dollars if they choose to go up against Shazam on one last song. Their other option is to leave with the $207,000. If they play and lose to Shazam, they will leave with half their bank, or $103,500. They were given the category to help them decide: the 2000s. Donna looked at Ryan and asked “That’s you?” He said, “No, that’s you.” Ryan told Jamie that Donna was “en fuego” right now. Donna said she didn’t want to think about “what if’s” and decided to go for it. Donna was remarkably calm and confident. The million dollar song was Sheryl Crow’s: “Soak Up the Sun.” AND SHE GOT IT!!
