Round 1 – Shazam Shuffle
First 6 are worth $2000 each. The last one (Fast Track) is worth $4000.
1. TEEN IDOLS: “Baby” (Justin Bieber feat. Ludacris)
J&M $0 Sci-Fi $2000 Pi $0
This was between Sci-Fi (2.70) and Pi (2.76)
2. SOUL: “That Lady (Part 1)” (The Isley Brothers)
J&M $0 Sci-Fi $4000 Pi $0
Sci-Fi had the lone solve.
3. HIP HOP: “International Love” (Pitbull ft. Chris Brown)
J&M $0 Sci-Fi $6000 Pi $0
Again, it was between Sci-Fi (2.31) and Pi (2.55). J&M were having a problem hitting the buzzer hard enough
4. ROCK: “Everlong” (Foo Fighters)
J&M $0 Sci-Fi $6000 Pi $2000
J&M got in there this time but had the wrong title. Sci-Fi came in at 2.89 and it was Score 1 for Pi at 2.31
5. BROADWAY: “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going” (Jennifer Holliday – Dreamgirls)
J&M $0 Sci-Fi $8000 Pi $2000
Only Sci-Fi got this title right. The other teams had “You’re Gonna Love Me”
6. ’80s: “Hungry Heart” (Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band)
J&M $0 Sci-Fi $8000 Pi $4000
Everyone got it but it was another win for Pi. They clocked in fastest at 1.61
FAST TRACK: THE JACKSON 5: “I’ll Be There”
J&M $0 Sci-Fi $8000 Pi $8000
Pi locked that one in at 1.30 beating J&M (1.58) and Sci-Fi (1.50)
So the first round ended in a tie for Sci-Fi and Pi, with J&M “still on the schneid,” as Jamie likes to say, a nicer way of saying you’re on a losing streak.
Round 2: Two votes went to ’90s so the ’70s were out. Corine played “Poison” and the contestants got to dance onstage with Bell Biv Devoe. Jamie said he was glad they chose the ’90s “cause if not, we’d have had K.C. & the Sunshine Band out here.” Third place goes home at the end of the round.
First 4: $3000 each. Fast Track: $6000
1. “If It Makes You Happy” (Sheryl Crow)
J&M $0 Sci-Fi $11,000 Pi $8000

2. “You Make Me Wanna” (Usher)
J&M $0 Sci-Fi $11,000 Pi $8000
Julie & Michael finally got one. They came in at 1.41 to Sci-Fi’s 1.67
3. “Loser” (Beck)
J&M $3000 Sci-Fi $11,000 Pi $11,000
It was between Pi (1.47) and Sci-Fi (1.55)
FAST TRACK: “I Want You” (Savage Garden)
J&M $3000 Sci-Fi $11,000 Pi $17,000
That went to Pi (2.06) vs. Sci-Fi’s 2.35
So, after managing to tie again with Sci-Fi, Pi topped it off with a $6K lead. Sadly, Julie & Michael never got their mojo working and it was the end of the line for them.
Round 3: Corinne’s Playlist – “I might be a millennial,” she said, “but I like all kinds of music.” Only one person from each remaining team could play this round. So it was Carlos vs. Abby
First 4: $5000 each. Fast Track: $10,000.
1. “We Are Young” (Fun feat. Janelle Monáe)
Sci-Fi $11,000 Pi $22,000
Abby nailed it at 1.93 to Carlos’ 2.22
2. “Chains” (Nick Jonas)

Carlos came through with the only right answer
3. “Today Was a Fairytale” (Taylor Swift)
Sci-Fi $16,000 Pi $27,000
See-sawing back and forth, this one went to Abby at 2.08 over 3.85 for Carlos
4. “Twistin’ the Night Away” (Sam Cooke)
Sci-Fi $16,000 Pi $32,000
Abby was on it at 2.08. Carlos came in at 2.43. It’s a giant step for Team Pi

Sci-Fi $26,000 Pi $32,000
Carlos was like “I ain’t going out like that.” He came in at 2.06 to 3.03 for Abby
Only $6K separates the teams now and, as we all know, the money is going up.

Sci-Fi jumped on it at 1.57. Pi came in at 2.75
2. “Till the World Ends” (Britney Spears)
Sci-Fi $36,000 Pi $42,000
Pi got it at 1.45 to Sci-Fi’s 1.98
3. “Party All the Time” (Eddie Murphy)
Sci-Fi $36,000 Pi $52,000
My oh my, Pi! They got that in 1.51. At 2.60, Sci-Fi wasn’t even close
4. “Red Solo Cup” (Toby Keith)
Sci-Fi $46,000 Pi $52,000
Sci-Fi redeemed themselves with the only right answer

So the math teachers were going on to try to beat Shazam. Tatanisha & Carlos were taking home half their bank: $23,000.
One Million Beat Shazam Round – 6 songs
First 5: $25,000 each. They only get a shot at the million if they get all 5 right. There are no multiple choice screens and they have to know the song’s exact title before Shazam to be right.
1. OLDIES: “Under the Boardwalk” (The Drifters) – Abby hit the buzzer and Chip handled it. $97,000
2. 2010s: “Boom Clap” (Charli XCX) – They buzzed in but had no guess so the $1 million was off the table.
3. MADE IN THE U.K.: “London Calling” (The Clash) – How does that work? If they don’t know it before they buzz in, do they think they are gonna know it after they buzz in?
4. SEXY SONGS: “Red Light Special” (TLC) – And Chip definitely knew it cause he sings sexy songs on cruises $122,000
5. POP ROCK: “All You Wanted” (Michelle Branch)- Chip knew this one, too! They began the round with $72,000 and finished with strong>$147,000.
Abby & Chip were then offered the opportunity to double their money to $294,000 by going up against Shazam on one last song. They don’t have to. They can take their $147,000 and mosey on home. If they play and lose to Shazam, they will only get half of what they have now, or $73,500. They were given the category to help them decide: DISCO. Chip felt that this was a once-in-a-lifetime chance to win a such a large chunk of dough. He also said they would be more upset if they didn’t play and knew it than if they took their shot and missed it. Chip opted to be the brave soul to play this last song all by himself. Alas, he thought it was “Hot Stuff.” It was another Donna Summer hit: “Dim All the Lights.”
It wasn’t all bad. Chip & Abby were leaving with $73,500 That was a little more than what they started the last round with and, as Abby said at one point before they even hit the $72,000 mark, they won more than a year’s salary. Congrats to you both.
