Alex Trebek to Moderate Pa. Gubernatorial Debate

This coming October, Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek will be moderating a 45-minute long debate among candidates running for the office of governor of the Keystone State. According to Philly.com, the debate is scheduled to held at the Hershey Lodge and is a part of the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry’s annual dinner.

The article includes quotes from Trebek about his own political viewpoint: “I consider myself a social liberal and a fiscal conservative” and “I am a registered ‘Independent,’ and I have voted for both Democratic and Republican candidates in the past, and will continue to do so,” and notes that Trebek told “The Hill” 5 years ago that if he ever had the chance to moderate a political debate: “I would not let the politicians get away with standard responses. I would try to pin them down, even though I might look bad doing it.”

Well, he’s had a LOT of practice asking people to “be more specific,” that’s for sure. If he’s satisfied with a response and says: “Good for you,” on the other hand… now that really would look bad!
