Carrie found the Jeopardy! round Daily Double in “Science & Nature” under the $400 clue on the 4th pick of the round. With $400, she was the only one on the board with any money. Carrie bet the $1,000 allowance and she was RIGHT.

Carrie finished in the lead with $6,600. Kirsten was second with $1,600 and Jay was last at $600. One clue worth $1,000 went uncovered.

Jay found the first Daily Double in “Rhyming American Road Trip” under the $800 clue on the 13th pick of the round. He was in the lead with $5,800 now, $1,200 more than Carrie in second place. Jay bet $3,000 and he was RIGHT.
Head west out of one state that borders Manitoba to enter a second state that also does show
Carrie got the last Daily Double in “One-Syllable Adjectives” under the $2,000 clue with 10 clues left after it. She was in second place with $6,200, $5,700 less than Jay in first place. Carrie bet $4,000 and came up with bashful. That was WRONG and it had two syllables.

Jay finished in the lead with $13,600. Kirsten was second with $6,800 and Carrie was last with $5,000. One clue worth $2,000 went uncovered.

WHO IS JOHN DENVER?
John Denver’s song “Rocky Mountain High” became Colorado’s official state song in March 2007. Back in 1985, Denver testified at a Senate hearing regarding parental guidance labels advocated by the Parents Music Resource Center (PMRC). He testified that his song “Rocky Mountain High” was a victim of censorship simply because it had the word “high” in the title, when it was a tribute to the natural wonders that can be witnessed in Colorado’s Rocky Mountains. Songfacts also has a list of other songs whose authors denied they were about drugs such as “Puff the Magic Dragon”, a questionable accusation; and “Let’s Go Get Stoned”, an understandable but wrong accusation. The latter was about alcohol. Slang words evolve. Getting stoned in the 1950s and part of the 1960s originally meant getting drunk. It evolved to include drugs and took on other meanings that had nothing to do with alcohol or drugs.
Carrie got it right after crossing out “Bob”. She bet $4,500 and finished with $9,500.
Kirsten went with Woody Guthrie. I don’t know why she felt she was at a generational disadvantage. Guthrie’s heyday was well before John Denver’s. She bet and lost her whole $6,800.
Jay also got it right. He didn’t bet anything and won the game with $13,600. Jay Foster is the new Jeopardy! champ.

west coast lost the final answer. We got to see another old final answer. A real whiskey, tango, foxtrot!!!
Did Carrie spell out “Denver” correctly. On my TV , it appears she left off a letter at the end.
Now that I’m taking a closer look at that, Michael, it appears she did leave off the the “r” at the end. I just took Ken’s word for it.
It appears to me Carrie overlapped the “er” at the end if you look at how she wrote the “e” after the “D” beginning his last name. I don’t think just an “e” at the end would have been accepted by the judges.
Not sure if we are going to have 1 day champs for next week but Jay might pull off a streak. You might never know what will happen. John Denver was one of my favorite musicians.
So after Amy Schneider’s streak come to an end on Wednesday, we had a new champ for the rest of the week. I think that we’re going to have a one day champion all next week. Anyway we were so close to having a tiebreaker if Kirsten responded correctly in FJ!
