Bradley Beal Scores 50 Plus Points in Consecutive Games but Wizards Lose Both of Them
Washington Wizards guard Bradley Beal scored a career high 53 points against the Chicago Bulls on February 23rd but the Wizards lost 126-117, ending Chicago’s eight game losing streak.
Washington was right back in action on the 24th, hosting the NBA leading Milwaukee Bucks. Beal picked up right where he left off, and was a scoring machine once again, setting another career high with 55 points. And once again, the Wizards lost. After a fourth quarter comeback that pushed the game into overtime, the Bucks won 137-134.
Beal is the first player since the late Kobe Bryant in 2007 to score 50 in consecutive days. Through games of February 24th, he is averaging 30.1 points per game, second in the NBA to Houston’s James Harden (35.3 ppg). With the two losses, Washington fell to 20-36 on the season. Since Beal is doing more than his share, maybe the Wizards could bring in some more players to help him out. Beal will go for his third 50 on February 26th when Washington hosts Brooklyn.
