WHAT IS CAMP DAVID?

Originally a camp for federal government employees and their families, Hi-Catoctin was chosen as a retreat for FDR during his presidency. It was remodeled and renamed “U.S.S. Shangri-La” by FDR. During Eisenhower’s presidency, he renamed it after his grandson, David. “‘Shangri-La,'” Ike wrote to a friend in 1953, “was just a little fancy for a Kansas farm boy.”

David Eisenhower grew up to marry Julie Nixon, youngest daughter of Richard Nixon. The pair wed on 12/22/1968, after Nixon was elected President but before he took office. More Weddings of Presidents’ Daughters.

Sam got a far as the word Chesapeake. That cost him his $3,601 bet. He finished with $4,599.

Kirstin did not have a response. She only bet 1,999 so she had $8,201 left.

Amy wrote down Chesapeake Bay. She lost $8,601, leaving her with $3,199. So Kirstin won the match and remains the Jeopardy! champ. Her 4-day total is $49,403.

That was an “edge of your seat” match there… perfect way to start off the week.

The FJ was great as well… U.S. Landmarks is always a fun category to see on Jeopardy… in fact, I’d bet it comes up as much as almost any other category.

Side note: how many times is this champ going to win with an incorrect FJ?

    • Marilyn Ahrenhoerster says:

She only missed two out of four and the ones she missed were missed by all players.

      • Mathwiz100 says:

Allow me to specify: In each of her four victories, Kirstin has won only because the person who could’ve defeated her answered the FJ incorrectly. In only one game has she actually led going into FJ.
So, going back to before… how many times is this champ going to win (because of) an incorrect FJ?

So surprised. I thought at least two if not all would get that one. Apparently, David Eisenhower is a very inspiring type of fellow. He also inspired John Fogerty to write “Fortunate Son.” (I love that song)

Philip Tiu is kicked out of the TofC contention thanks for Kirstin’s fourth win. 41/57 here

    • Dalton Higbee says:

I wish Philip would have won more games than Kirstin.

    • William Weyser says:

      I am really upset!

      • Dalton Higbee says:

Not yet, but theres still a strong chance Philip may be out of the ToC.

        • Lou says:

We will see, dalton. But if Kristin does not win game 5 and wagers a lot, then he might be back in and Laurie MacDougall might be out.

Also I always thought these guys know.about camp David so why did two of them go for.the.Chesapeake bay? My family took.that route to Virginia beach last year
