WHAT IS THE LOCH NESS MONSTER?

April 21, 2015 was the 81st anniversary of the publication of “The Surgeon’s Photograph,” the purported image of the Loch Ness Monster that led to “Nessie Fever.” The Google Doodle was dedicated to Nessie that day, and Emma Mills compiled a list of 50 Fascinating Facts about the Loch Ness Monster. The first 3 deal with the famous photo and its subsequent debunking in 1975.

That really didn’t do much to dispel the continued fascination with the Loch Ness legend but so far, it doesn’t look like Nessie has been granted honorary citizenship like Japan’s Godzilla.

Asim bet $4,199. He finished with $8,399.

Ryan bet $1,515, bringing him up to $18,515.

Tim bet $17,000. Wowza! Who doesn’t love it when a big bet works out? He won the match with $35,000 and we’ll be seeing Tim Aten at the first podium on Monday.

Yes it was great to see a big win like that today and especially in such a competitive game. I also got a big kick out of Tim shaking his head before he answered that first DD, as if in disbelief at how easy it was.

Alex Trebek’s undying love for the muskox came up in the chat today because Ryan grew up in Palmer, Alaska where they have a musk ox farm that Trebek has visited. It’s listed on the Top 10 Things to Do in Palmer. They have a reindeer farm too.

For some reason, Tim reminded me a little of Alex Jacob, albeit his timid DD bets. Maybe his demeanor.

I find Trebek’s adoration for a creature with a face only a mother could love, cute. 🙂

    I hope so, Dalton!

What a good way to end the week. A fj triple solve and a champion with $35k winnings in one game. We haven’t seen that amount in a long time.

    Congrats Tim.

There was a Tim back in February of this year named Tim Kutz, he won $46,599. Now a different Tim named Tim Aten. Both Tims, Kutz and Aten in their first game won $35,000 or more. Let’s see if Tim Aten can match Tim Kutz.

I agree, I hope to see Tim Aten match with Tim Kutz next week. Tim Kutz won 107000 in 4 games so lets hope this new tim will follow him in his footsteps because I remember this like it was the start of the year now.
