Only ONE of the contestants got Final Jeopardy! right.
Algeria is the largest country in Africa in area, just ahead of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. These two countries are also ranked 10th and 11th in area in the entire world by both the World Factbook and the World Bank, even with slight variations in area, as shown on this side-by-side table on Statistic Times. The table is sortable by heading so if you click on the Continent heading, it will show you the area statistics for Africa on the World Factbooks side.
When South Sudan split from Sudan in 2011, it took 644.329 sq km with it. Sudan dropped to the 3rd largest in Africa and 16th largest in the world, per World Factbook, which ranks Greenland the 12th largest with an area of 2,166,086 sq km. World Bank didn’t count ice-covered areas of Greenland. That made Sudan No. 15 on their list. Now that you’ve seen all that, you can nail Sporcle’s 10 Largest Countries in Africa quiz.
Kaberi had the DRC. She lost her $5,000 bet, leaving her with $4,600.
Jill thought it was Nigeria. That only cost her $1,300 bet, so she finished with $10,000.
Jason got it right. His $2,801 bet brought him up to $22,601. So Jason is the winner of this match and will go into the last part of the final with a very nice advantage.
Reversal: In “Put it There,” the $1600 clue was: If the reactor is getting too hot, put these “rods” into the core to absorb neutrons & shut it down. Kaberi said cooling rods. Alex said no, control rods. Then when he came back, he said the judges had determined that she said cooling rods, and not cool rods. If that sounds confusing, it’s because it did sound like Kaberi said cool rods, but the closed caption says she said cooling rods.

just by looking.
It was funny when Jason laughed at the $1000 Shakespeare clue — Jeopardy! is the moon.
On the reversal, I’m not confused over whether Kaberi said cool rods or cooling rods. When she said it, Alex didn’t say, no cooling rods. He said no, control rods. What gives???
Does anyone remember what the first clue in 10 letter words was?
Here ya go, Rhonda
