TWO of the contestants got Final Jeopardy! right.

WHAT IS MALLORCA (MAJORCA)?

“There seems to be no end to the puzzlement over the name of this particular Spanish island – Mallorca, or is it, Majorca? … It actually originates from the Latin insula maior which translates as ‘larger island’, and then later maiorica, the ‘larger one’, since it is the biggest of the Balearic Islands in the Mediterranean. The letter ‘j’ did not exist in Latin until the thirteenth century, but when it did, it replaced the ‘i’ when used as a consonant.” Mallorca vs Majorca: What’s in a Name?

Jill got it right although Alex said Majorca was an incorrect spelling. She bet $6,402 and finished with $15,802.

Rebecca came up with Sardinia. She lost her $7,200 bet, finishing with $5,600.

Chris also got it right with Mallorca. He bet $10,000 so he won the match with $25,800, yet another fine payday this week — and another new champ. Congrats to Chris.

I wish Alex would have won he was doing so good until the end

I was hoping that Chris would lose. I wanted one of the two ladies to win and join the male challengers on Friday. It would be even more fun to watch with ratherly the female returning champ going against two male challengers.
