The Final Jeopardy question (2/3/2016) in the category “Moments in History” was:
This word follows January (China, 1967); March (Germany, 1848); July (France, 1830) & famously, October.
Here’s our complete recap of the third quarter-final match of the 2016 Jeopardy! College Championship. Today’s contestants are Sam Deutsch a junior at the Univ. of Southern California; Amanda Rosner, a freshman at the Northwestern; and Michael Sieja, a sophomore at Mississippi State.
Round 1 Categories: Hail to the Chief – Prefix It for Me – Dogging It – TV Family Relationships – Going Underwater – I Need a Sub
Michael found the Jeopardy! round Daily Double in “Dogging It” under the $800 clue with 8 clues left after it. He was in second place with $2,000, $1,400 less than Sam’s lead. He made it a true Daily Double and thought it was a pointer. That was WRONG.

WHAT IS REVOLUTION?
Here is a link to wikipedia’s list of revolutions and rebellions that include (of course) the ones mentioned in the clue, if you want to study up on the topic.
Amanda bet it all and finished with $13,200.
Michael doubled up too and finished with $14,400.
Sam bet $801 and won the semi-final spot with $14,401.
Here’s where we stand at the end of this match:
Two triple stumpers from today’s “Add”/”Drop” category were:
($1200) The universal caution code “H” on a prescription means it’s possible the drug will lead to this.
($2000) An enclosed grazing area for horses.

I don’t think the revolutions are called by their Month name. Other than maybe the October Revolution in Russia. But I’ve never heard of The January Revolution or the March Revolution for those wars. The clue said “This word follows January” etc.
You could look up 1848 March Revolution and 1967 January Revolution. You will find that they are called by the month name.
On the link they gave above to the Wikipedia List of Revolutions, they are not called by their month.
They should’ve said question a little differently.
@Annie, blame your professors.
Pretty hard fj today..
Think one should get it…
How the question was worded made it seem hard.. They should’ve like said the question differently..
True.
42/61 here
Not surprised this was a triple solve fj. It was one of the best fj clues I have seen written in a long time.
@vj, did Trebek say anything about the October Revolution 1917 in Russia? Just curious. Won’t see it until 7 pm my time.
Nope, Jacob, he didn’t add any info at all today, just called the first answer correct and moved on. After all were revealed right and Sam’s semi-final spot was confirmed, he said that Amanda and Michael’s scores are looking “pretty good” for the wild cards..
