World’s Longest Pizza: Italy Sets New Record

Italian pizza-makers set a new Guinness World Record for the longest pizza in the world at Expo 2015, the world fair in Milan. The pizza was nearly a mile long. Spread out over some 800 tables, it took 2 tons of tomato sauce and a ton and a half of mozzarella cheese to make it.

The 1.59545 kilometer creation toppled the 2011 record of a 1.1415 kilometer pizza made in Spain.

After the record was established, people who attended the fair were given free slices of the record-setting pie.
