Supporting Cast of The Captain: Ray Donovan

Here are some of the actors who appeared in The Captain, the twelfth episode and Season 2 finale of Ray Donovan.

Omar Nazel and Rogelio Douglas, Jr. have been playing Cookie Brown’s (Omar J. Dorsey) driver and bodyguard throughout Season 2. They were happily eating the leftover cake from Alfonse’s birthday party, when Ray Donovan (Liev Schreiber) came over and put a couple of bullets in Cookie. Then he set up a little game of “Who Wants to be a Millionaire” between the two of them. Ray did mention the possibility of splitting the money, but one of them decided he’d rather have the whole cake to himself. So one of them, Cookie and two other characters bit the dust in “The Captain”:

Kate McPherson (Vinessa Shaw) was killed by Avi (Steven Bauer) for being a rodef who couldn’t take a hint. Bob LePeck (Collin Christopher) has been playing an obsessed type who can’t stay away from Ashley Rucker (Ambyr Childers). In this season, he felt it was his duty to protect Ashley from her abusive boyfriend, Steve Knight (Eion Bailey). Although we didn’t see it happen, Bob managed to get into Ashley’s beach house in the midst of a beating he was giving Ashley and Knight pushed him over the balcony to his death. We didn’t see that either. Ashley told the truth. Now she is free to either go back to crazy Stu Feldman or take up with another weirdo. Ashley has terrible judgment when it comes to men.

This episode also featured Rosanna Arquette as the voice of Linda, who has been trying to decide whether Mickey was a sailor or a captain and whether she should forgive him for her untimely demise at the hands of Sully Sullivan last season. Linda was in a better place and decided to forgive Mickey speaking through a horse named The Captain, at the racetrack. Mickey, his son Daryll (Pooch Hall) and his parole officer Ronald Keith (Wendell Pierce) all bet on the Captain to win and the tip turned out to be golden. (Thank goodness Mickey didn’t listen to that degenerate loser Ronald and bet on Papa’s Mustache!)
