Gregg found the Jeopardy! round Daily Double in “Words That Should Rhyme” under the $800 clue on the 3rd pick of the round. He was in the lead with $1,000, $200 more than Grant in second place. Gregg made it a true Daily Double and he was RIGHT.

Gregg found the first Daily Double in “Saints” under the $800 clue with 8 clues left after it. He was in the lead with $11,000, $2,400 more than Grant in second place. Gregg bet $1,000 and he was RIGHT.
Upon canonization in 2016, Mother Teresa became Saint Teresa of this city show
On the very next pick, Gregg found the last Daily Double in “It’s a Date” under the $800 clue. He was in the lead with $12,000 now, $3,400 more than Grant in second place. Gregg bet $6,000 and said June 21st. That was WRONG.
Leon is Noel backwards & Leon Day is this day at the start of summer show
Grant finished in the lead with $8,200. Ivvone was second with $7,000 and Gregg was last with $6,800. Two clues worth $800 were not shown.
TWO of the contestants got Final Jeopardy! right.
WHAT IS “TWELVE ANGRY MEN”?
“Twelve Angry Men” began as a televised play in 1954 with Bob Cummings as Juror No. 8, initially the lone non-guilty holdout; and Franchot Tone as contentious Juror No. 3. The play was adapted for the stage the following year. The most famous version came in 1957 with the Sidney Lumet classic starring Henry Fonda as Juror No. 8 and Lee J. Cobb as Juror No. 3.
The play that opened in 2004 on Broadway starred Boyd Gaines as Juror No. 8 and Philip Bosco as Juror No. 3. There are 14 roles in “Twelve Angry Men”: 12 male jurors, the guard and the voice of the judge. I suppose they could still keep the “Twelve Angry Men” title even if the guard and judge roles went to females, but it was an all-male cast.
Gregg was going for Spamalot. He bet and lost his whole $6,800.
Ivvone got it right. She bet it all and doubled her score to $14,000.
Grant also got it right. He bet $5,801 and won the game with $14,001. Grant’s 4-day total is $81,203.
A triple stumper from each round:
THE GROUPER CHAT ($200) The grouper is in the same family as not only the sea types of this fish but the reef & sand ones too
DINO MOVIES ($1600) “Doubt” playwright John Patrick Shanley co-wrote this 1993 animated flick that has time-traveling dinosaurs at the Macy’s Parade
2 years ago: TWO of the players got this FJ in “THE NATIONAL PARK SERVICE”
The USA’s smallest national park is a 91-acre site on the Mississippi River, home to this 630-foot landmark show

Well, the ’14 roles’ in FJ threw me as I was certainly aware of the 1957 film ‘Twelve Angry Men’. In fact, I watched that film several times in the past. Anyways, I sure wish that the champion wouldn’t get so emotional after winning the games. In any case, I missed part of Single Jeopardy since the channel was preempted by a local thunderstorm/tornado warning for Michigan.
For Final, I said “The Book of Mormon”. However, the last Broadway show I saw was in 2010 (the opera doesn’t count, esp because, not on Broadway!) (The Book of Mormon opened in 2011.)
I said to myself, hand to God, “I’ll bet Howard’s wife would have known who founded the Society of Jesus!”
Man, it started to stress me a scoche how delayed Ivvone was in selecting categories. I think that was part of why all clues were not uncovered in the second round.
Otherwise, agree heartily with the rest of y’all!
Regarding the fj clue I was not familiar with the Broadway version. However the number “14” and no females sealed the deal for me. I have watched the old movie version many times on old movie TV channels. I don’t think I could sit through a Broadway version of the movie though. We like lively & upbeat Broadway shows.
I didn’t think it would be a stumper for the young contestants because too many young people have told us they like to watch old b/w movies on TV. They are fascinated with the telephone booths and the long cars back in the day. 🤣
As VJ said, Gregg all but sealed his ultimate fate with that too-large wager, then blew FJ. Somehow I came up with Final fairly quickly. Saw the movie ages ago. I was impressed that two of them got it.
Grant’s multiple miscues somehow didn’t matter in the long run. Both challengers gave a good account of themselves. Someone should have known the Sandwich Islands state and the rags-to-riches author. And the counting steps of a waltz were kind of obvious, especially with the “last New Year’s Eve” wordage. An acquaintance of mine got married on Jan 1 so he’d never forget his anniversary. I knew the numbers of the Reconstruction Amendments, but didn’t realize that’s what they were going for. I bet my wife would have known who founded the Society of Jesus. We have a school by that name in our city.
I came up with The Fully Monty lol.
It looked like Grant was so worried that Gregg was going to win, so he (Grant) kept buzzing in to try and get the lead.
Gregg fixed that with his $6K DD miss. I begged him not to do it. There weren’t enough clues left to cover it if he was wrong. Well, ultimately, it didn’t matter because he got FJ! wrong.
Grant is the first player to win a game with at least 10 incorrect responses since Ryan Fenster on 1/31/2018. Grant is also the first player to win a game with 11 incorrect since Jack Lechner on December 1, 1988. It was a crazy game today with a total of 17 incorrect responses in this game.
