Gary found the Jeopardy! round Daily Double in “Postal Abbreviation Combos” under the $800 clue just before the commercial break. Gary was tied for second place with Tyler at $2,600, $2,000 less than Yungsheng’s lead. Gary bet it all and guessed hand. That was WRONG.

Yungsheng finished in the lead with $8,400. Tyler was in second place with $3,800. Gary was last with $2,400. All clues were shown.

Yungsheng found the first Daily Double in “U.S. Firsts” under the $1,200 clue on the 4th pick of the round. He was in the lead with $8,800, $3,400 more than Tyler in second place. Yungsheng bet $7,000 and he was RIGHT.

Yungsheng got the last Daily Double in “Well, They Sound the Same” under the $2,000 clue with 9 clues left after it. He was in the lead with $23,400 now, $11,800 more than Gary in second place. Yungsheng bet $10,000 and he was RIGHT.

Yungsheng finished in the lead with a runaway $33,800. Gary was in second place with $14,800. Tyler was last with $11,400. All clues were shown.

Tyler thought it was the World Trade Center Memorial. He bet and lost all of today’s $11,400. That left him with the $17,600 from Friday’s game.
Gary went with the New York Stock Exchange. That cost him $8,300 and left him with $6,500 today. Friday’s $6,000 brought him up to $12,500.
Yungsheng got it right. He didn’t bet anything today. With Friday’s $8,000, Yungsheng’s final score was $41,800. He won the tournament and the top prize of $100,000 and a spot in the ToC. Tyler won $50,000 and Gary won $25,000.
There were 2 triple stumpers in the whole game!

If I’m not mistaken, the only missed clue in round one was that pretty easy Hawaii-ND daily double. It even had “backward” in the clue to make it simpler.
Yungsheng and Gary had to hope they hit the DDs and bet big, which is just how it played out.
As someone who lived in NYC at the time of the Stonewall event, I should have known FJ. For those who think the categories and clues are geared to help certain contestants, I assure you they are not. I was the victim of bad luck when the classical music DJ hit the big $$ clues in Classical Music and sealed my fate.
Yungsheng had a runaway and would have won even if he didn’t know FJ! so any remarks about it being unfair or fixed are just ridiculous.
Also, Yungsheng didn’t bet anything so knowing Final didn’t even increase his score
That’s true but we can’t expect people who are looking to claim foul play to notice something like that 🤣
Would he have won if the FJ question was, ‘This person is the highest ranking officer in the USMC.’ no, Would that have been a fair question? No.
I wouldn’t say it’s fixed but that question gave Yungsheng an advantage.
What is it about a runaway that you don’t understand? It means the person who has a runaway wins before the Final Jeopardy! clue is even shown.
So even if they asked a USMC-related clue that only Tyler knew, Yungsheng still would have won and Tyler still would have placed second.
