Two triple solves were the highlights and easiest clues of the week. I would say Thursday’s clue was a bit easier than Wednesday’s. The ‘bookend’ clues got one correct response each and Tuesday’s got two. Friday’s clue gets my vote for the week’s hardest clue, although I think it would have been another triple solve if they put Hunter S. Thompson’s name in the clue.
Taylor Clagett was the returning champ on Monday and he won again, this time with a runaway. On Tuesday, Julie Sisson defeated Taylor and she lost to Lucas Partridge on Wednesday. Lucas won 2 more games, ending the week and the season as a 3x champ who will return in September. All in all, it was a decent ending to Season 39 with 4 out of 5 payouts over $20K.
Ken Jennings said that Lucas Partridge was the first 3x champ since June. Ben Goldstein won his third game on 6/20/23 and he won 2 more games after that. A month later, he tweeted this little joke that wouldn’t have been funny if it had come true!
I don't think anyone will win three games of #Jeopardy in a row ever again. It's over folks. I was the last one.
