TWO of the contestants got Final Jeopardy! right.
WHAT IS CHARLOTTE’S WEB?
E.B. White’s 1952 classic “Charlotte’s Web” is a frequent flyer on Jeopardy! This isn’t the first time it’s turned up in Final Jeopardy! and likely won’t be the last. It was the correct response to the 4/4/2012 final clue in the category Classic Children’s Books and, more recently, in the 6/12/2018 game in “Children’s Lit”, the same category as today.
Among many “Charlotte’s Web” inspired products are a 1973 animated musical with the same title as the book, a 2003 direct-to-video sequel, “Charlotte’s Web 2: Wilbur’s Great Adventure” and, of course, a video game.
Mary thought it was “Sleeping Beauty”. She lost $2,000 and finished with $1,000.
Michael got it right. He bet $801 and that brought him up to $19,201.
Ray got it right, too. He gambled big with $17,700 on the line and it paid off. Ray won the game with $36,900. That’s $2,200 more than he picked up on Monday and Tuesday combined. Ray’s 5-day total is $132,200. Ken congratulated Ray on this achievement with: “You just punched your ticket into the Tournament of Champions.”
A triple stumper from each round:

Great game and congrats to Ray!
I thought the last daily double (Midway) was way too easy to be a $1200 clue.
What a terrific game! I can’t help but think the outcome might have been different had Michael not messed up near the end on that “bloody nose” question that cost him the lead.
Kid lit is one of my many Achilles heels. And the only stumper I knew was the NYC vending machines. As a teen, I’d put in a penny, slide the selection lever back and forth, and sometimes get more than one piece.
Those last two DDs were pretty soft.
Yes, I also recall seeing ‘Charlotte’s Web’ turn up several times before on FJ, but I never read the book.
At last we got another streaker! Congrats to ray on his 5th win. Welcome to the Tournament of Champions! I am thinking michael will be in the second chance tournament probably since he played so well against ray
