#2 Iowa Loses to Purdue; #1 Georgia Stays Perfect with Win Over #11 Kentucky in College Football

Purdue quarterback Aidan O’Connell passed for 375 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for one more as Purdue easily handled #2 Iowa 24-7 on October 16th in Iowa City. David Bell caught 11 passes for 240 yards and one touchdown for the Boilermakers.

Iowa quarterback Spencer Petras was intercepted four times by the Boilermakers, who had 464 total yards of offense to the Hawkeye’s 271. Iowa’s time at the #2 ranking in the AP Poll lasted just one week, and Hawkeyes (6-1) dropped to #11 in the poll. Cincinnati (6-0) moved up oner notch to #2 with a 56-21 blowout of Central Florida. Purdue (4-2) made it into the Top 25 for the first time since 2007, entering at #25.

Top ranked Georgia (7-0) stayed at the top with a 30-13 win over #11 Kentucky, handing the Wildcats (6-1) their 1st loss of the season. Kentucky dropped to #15. The Bulldogs will have a well earned weekend off after three straight blowouts over ranked teams. Georgia will return to action on October 30th , hosting Florida.
