This is the way I remember the rhyme about the Bumsteads that we used to jump rope to when I was a kid:

    Blondie and Dagwood went downtown
    Blondie bought an evening gown
Dagwood bought a pair of shoes
And Cookie stayed home and read the news

    Cookie was their daughter.

Probably not amazing. I remember a lot of things that rhyme, nursery rhymes, poems, songs etc and when I want to annoy my kids it comes in pretty handy. It comes in handy for entertaining my grandkids too.
