Yankees Stay Alive in ALDS Behind Aaron Judge’s Four RBIs
Already down two games to none, the New York Yankees were trailing the Toronto Blue Jays 6-1 in Game 3 of their best of five American League Division Series Playoff series on October 7th when New York’s Aaron Judge stepped to the plate in the bottom of the third inning and belted an RBI double to make it 6-2. Giancarlo Stanton drove in another run with a sacrifice fly to make it 6-3 after three innings.
Still, there wasn’t too much to worry about from the Jay’s point of view, as they were 39-0 in the regular season when leading by five or more runs. Then in the bottom of the fourth, Judge stepped to the plate with two runners on. He proceeded to smash a deep fly to left field that hit the foul pole for a three run homer to tie it at 6-6. Jazz Chisholm Jr. belted a solo homer in the bottom of the fifth and the Yankees led 7-6, and eventually won 9-6.
Judge, the American League batting champion this season, is hitting .500 in the post season (11 for 22) with two doubles, a home run, and six RBIs and an OPS of 1.304 in six games so far. New York will try to even the series at 2-2 on October 8th.
