Wendy Williams calls Chet Hanks a Fool

Wendy Williams went off on Tom Hanks’ son, Chet, on her Hot Topics segment today. She thinks Chet is a fool for trying to be a hip hop artist. She showed a clip of Chet saying that nobody can tell him what he can or can’t say, referring to the word n*gga, which frequently appears in hip hop music, as we all know.

Chet, she said, uses the rap name “White Chocolate” (he’s going by Chet Haze lately), and she seemed pretty upset about him growing up in Beverly Hills and having a college degree.

“Is that what they talk about in Beverly Hills?” Wendy said, “Is that what they taught you with your Northwestern degree? Or are you by chance running from your successful mom and dad and your older brother, Colin, who’s an Emmy-nominated actor. So sometimes kids try to figure out their paths and I guess his path is… the alley?”

She also showed a clip where she said Chet made it even worse by trying to explain that he does know this word is offensive to some people, but when it is between friends who don’t find it offensive, it isn’t. Missing Chet’s point entirely, Wendy trotted out a Jewish friend who attested that she would never dream of calling Wendy that. Well, of course, because she’s knows it would be offensive to Wendy.

“Not for nothing,” Wendy said, “he’s an entitled white boy making a mockery of a culture that– that culture starts trying down here because of less to come up to where Chet is….. When JayZ started he was a drug dealer from the block. I dare you to challenge me that if he grew up in Beverly Hills, you know, with a full-functioning family and a degree from Northwestern, that he’d be trying to come down. Chet– Chet. You are a fool…. The right thing to do is ‘Stop It.'”

We found Wendy’s opinion hilarious, even a case of the pot calling the kettle black. “Not for nothing” is an expression you hear in Italian-American communities in the mid-eastern states. And then there is “Wendy’s” catch phrase, “How you doin'” Same same.

Hear the word of the Lord, Wendy. “You hypocrite! First remove the beam from your own eye, and then you will see clearly enough to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.” (Matthew 5:5)

As for Chet, while we’re giving out advice, there are so many other words that you can use that are not controversial. Find one.
