Third Ranked Michigan Hands #5 Nebraska Its 1st Loss of the Season

Fifth ranked Nebraska led for much of their January 27th game at #3 Michigan, but the Wolverines shut down the Cornhuskers over the last 3:20 of the game and emerged with a 75-72 win. Michigan took the lead with just 1:07 left on a Trey McKenny layup. The Cornhuskers 20-1 overall, 9-1 in the Big Ten) fell from the ranks of the undefeated. Michigan is 19-1, and 9-1 in the Big 10. Michigan State is also 9-1 in the Big Ten (19-2 overall) after beating Rutgers.

The last two undefeated teams also had narrow victories in their most recent outings. Top ranked Arizona held on to beat #13 BYU 86-83 after leading 44-31 at the half on January 26th. #24 Miami of Ohio overcame a four point half time deficit to beat Massachusetts 86-84 on January 27th.
