Teresa Giudice Plays the Victim in Bravo Interview

Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice was sentenced to 15 months in jail last Thursday after pleading guilty to mail, wire and bankruptcy fraud. Her husband, Joe, also pleaded guilty to tax fraud and got a 41-month sentence. The next day the two of them gave an exclusive interview with Bravo’s Andy Cohen, for which TMZ claims they were paid almost enough to cover their restitution bill (although they noted that Bravo denied paying that much). The NY Daily News reports that they were paid “peanuts”.

Whatever it was, Teresa apparently claims she was shocked that she got any jail time because she believed that by entering into the plea deal, she would automatically skate. Maybe she didn’t hear the judge, who said that she wasn’t going to give her any jail time until she saw the financial records the Giudices submitted to the court. The judge considered them “an insult”.

Joe Giudice backed up his wife that the illegal acts committed were all his fault, and all Teresa did was sign papers at his request without reading them. Half of the interview aired on Monday on Bravo and the other half will be airing on Thursday.

Teresa also did a stint on Celebrity Apprentice in 2012.
