Spain and France Advance World Cup Semifinals

Kylian Mbappe had an assist and a goal to lead France to a 2-0 World Cup quarterfinal victory over Morocco on July 9th in Foxborough, Massachusetts. It was Mbappe’s 20th career World Cup goal. Ousmane Dembele scored France’s other goal.

France will play Spain in a semifinal in Dallas on July 14th. Spain ended Belgium’s run when Mikel Merino scored at 88 minutes to break a 1-1 tie. Fabian Ruiz scored Spain’s other goal and Charles De Ketelaere scored for Belgium.

The other semifinal teams will be decided on July 11th. Norway will play England and Argentina will face Switzerland. The winners of those two matches will play July 15th. The championship game will be July 19th at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
