Robert DeNiro, Grace Hightower: New Baby

Oscar-winning actor, Robert De Niro and his wife Grace Hightower have welcomed a brand new baby girl named Helen Grace Hightower. The child was born via surrogate.

The 68-year-old DeNiro and 56-year-old Hightower already have a 13-year-old son named Elliot.

De Niro also has a 40-year-old daughter Drena, and 35-year-old son Raphael, with former wife Diahnne Abbott; and he has 16-year-old twin sons Julian and Aaron, born via surrogate with ex-girlfriend Toukie Smith.

The Daily Mail quotes DeNiro: “‘One of the most important lessons I’ve learned in my years as a father is to keep the lines of communication open with my kids.” He added that with children ranging from the teens to their 30s, by three mothers, it’s a challenge but he has made it his business to be a good parent. “‘Sometimes,” he said, “it’s hard to talk to kids, especially when they’re teenagers. They’re in their own world … that’s the time when it’s most important to find a way to talk to them — not to lecture them, but to tell them things I think are important for them to know.”
