Rest in Peace: Nelson Mandela Dead at 95

South African President Jacob Zuma announced the death Nelson Mandela on December 5, 2013. Mandela was the first black South African to serve as President of South Africa from 1994 to 1999. The anti-apartheid revolutionary and politician dedicated his life to dismantling the legacy of apartheid and fighting institutionalised racism, poverty and inequality, while fostering racial reconciliation. Among his many accomplishments and awards, he was the 1993 Nobel Peace Prize winner.
