Renee Zellweger Happy to Look Different

Everybody is talking about the dramatic change that Renée Zellweger apparently debuted at the Elle Women in Hollywood Awards in Beverly Hills on Monday, October 20th. In a statement to People Magazine, the 45-year old actress said she was glad that people think she looks different and called all the chatter “silly.”

Well, yes, of course it is. Long gone are the days when you happily paraded around with a wig or hair extensions until someone made you feel self-conscious and you ran back home and cried. Nowadays, you can show up with a whole new face and just say it’s because you are happy, which is exactly what Zellweger did. So she has, in effect, neither confirmed nor denied plastic surgery which is certainly her right.

We have seen online comparisons of her new look to Daryl Hannah, Robin Wright and even a young Glenn Close. Something about the eyes, though, brought Linda Evans to mind. Not sure about the date of this video with Evans but the Inspiration Channel first picking up “The Big Valley” is mentioned and that was 4 years ago, when Evans was about 68 and she looks fabulous. Now don’t take it to mean that we think Renee Zellweger looks 20 years older than she is. Her new eyes reminded us of Evans, that’s all!

Of course, Zellweger’s original look will continue to live in on her many movies, such as the Bridget Jones Diary films, “Cold Mountain” (2003), “Chicago” (2002), “Nurse Betty” (2000) and her last from 2010, “My Own Love Song”. The actress will be appearing in a film due out in 2015 called “The Whole Truth,” in which she co-stars with Keanu Reeves.
