Rangers’ Rookie Ronald Guzman Rocks Yankees With Three Home Runs
The Texas Rangers 2018 season has been a big nothingburger for the most part. The Rangers are mired in last place in the American League West, and don’t have much chance to get out of that position. But even in a down year, a club can still have its moments.
One such moment was the August 10th game between the Rangers and New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium. Texas rookie first baseman Ronald Guzman hit three home runs to cap a 12-7 Rangers victory over the Yankees. He’s the first rookie to hit three homers against the Yankees in one game. The home runs were numbers 10, 11, and 12 on the season for the 23 year old from the Dominican Republic. The Rangers and Yankees only have one home and home series per season, but Guzman would probably like to hit against them more often; six of his 12 home runs have come against the Yankees. He hit one each in a three game set at home against New York back in May.
