New Cathy for Petals on the Wind

Lifetime has cast 26-year-old Rose McIver in the role of Cathy for “Petals on the Wind”, the upcoming sequel to “Flowers in the Attic.”

In “Flowers”, Cathy was portrayed by 14-year-old Kiernan Shipka because Cathy was only 12 when the movie began and 15 when it ended. In Petals, the network plans to skim over the next 10 years and pick up where Cathy is in her mid-twenties.

Heather Graham and Ellen Burstyn will still be on hand as Cathy’s rotten mother and psycho grandmother, and Dylan Bruce will also return as Bart Winslow.

Mason Dye, who is 5 years older than Kiernan Shipka, played Cathy’s older brother, Christopher, in “Flowers”. Since that also makes him 5 years younger than Rose McIver, it seem doubtful that he will be playing older Christopher.
