Amy found the Jeopardy! round Daily Double in “Play: The Game” under the 1,000 clue on the 11th pick of the round. She was tied for the lead with Sam at 2,400, Mattea had no points. Amy made it a true Daily Double and she was RIGHT.

Amy finished in the lead with 6,000. Sam was second with 4,000 and Mattea was last with 2,800. All clues were shown.

Mattea found the first Daily Double in “Map of Europe” under the 1,200 clue on the 2nd pick of the round. Mattea was in second place with 4,400 now, 1,600 less than Amy’s lead. Mattea went all in and was RIGHT.

Sam got the last Daily Double in “Colonial America” under the 2,000 clue on the 8th pick of the round. He was in last place with 7,200, he had 3,200 less than Mattea’s lead. Sam went all in and he was RIGHT.

Sam finished in the lead with 17,600. Mattea was next with 16,400 and Amy was in third place with 11,200. All clues were shown.

WHO IS STIEG LARSSON?

Stieg Larsson was a Swedish writer, journalist, and activist. Larsson founded the Swedish Expo Foundation to “counteract the growth of the extreme right and the white power culture in schools and among young people.” His best known work is the Millennium trilogy featuring computer hacker Lisbeth Salander, which were published posthumously after Larsson died of a heart attack in 2004.



Amy got it right. She added 6,500 points and finished with 17,700.

Mattea also knew it and bet 6,001 points, for a 22,401 point finish.

Sam thought it was Johannson Stiegler. That cost him 15,201. He finished with 2,399.

Matt found the Jeopardy! round Daily Double in “Ethiopia” under the 800 clue on the 7th pick of the round. He was in the lead with 2,600, 600 more than James in second place. Matt bet 2,600 and he was RIGHT.

James finished in the lead with 7,600. Matt was second with 6,800 and Andrew was last with 5,200. All clues were shown.

Matt found the first Daily Double in “‘Of’ Paint” under the 800 clue on the 9th pick of the round. He was in the lead with 13,200, 4,800 more than James in second place. Matt bet everything and he was RIGHT.

James got the last Daily Double in “A New Coat” under the 1,600 clue on the 14th pick of the round. He was in second place with 10,400 now, he had 14,800 less than Matt’s lead. James bet it all and he was RIGHT.

Matt and James finished in a tie for the lead with 28,400. Andrew was last with 9,600. All clues were shown.

WHAT IS HAITI?

From the State Dept.’s Office of the Historian: “Following the assassination of the Haitian President [Jean Vilbrun Guillaume Sam] in July of 1915, President Woodrow Wilson sent the United States Marines into Haiti to restore order and maintain political and economic stability in the Caribbean. This occupation continued until 1934.”



Andrew wrote down “baby we got a game goin’”, which he could afford to do since he bet nothing.

James crossed out Haiti(!) and went with Nicaragua. As usual, he bet the farm. As is not usual, he lost it all.

Matt also went with Nicaragua. He only lost 1,000 points and he won the match with the remaining 27,400.
