Jeopardy Invitational Tournament FJ! Clues (Semi and Finals)

Our summer reruns wrapped up with the Semifinals and Finals of the 2024 Jeopardy! Invitational Tournament.

12 players participated in the Semifinal matches, as usual, but only the winner of each match could advance to the finals. Amy Schneider, Victoria Groce and Andrew He were the lucky winners. David Madden, Jennifer Quail, Larissa Kelly, Matt Jackson, Sam Buttrey and Sam Kavanaugh weren’t exactly unlucky– they all went home with $10,000 each.

Tue, April 2 – Correct answers: 2

Wed, April 3 – Correct answers: 1
PHYSICISTS: This man with a force named after him published an 1835 scientific treatise on the physics of billiard balls show

STATE CAPITALS: It was named for a nearby river that explorer Gabriel Moraga named for one of a religious grouping of 7 show

None of the Final Jeopardy! clues in the Semifinals produced a triple solve. After a tough final in the first match, everyone got the last two Final clues.

BODIES OF WATER: The smallest inland sea in the world, it’s completely within the territory of a single country & connects 2 other larger seas show

By the end of the second final game, Victoria and Amy each had one win. For the Tournament to continue, Andrew needed to win the third game, but Victoria won it, for $100,000. Although Amy finished in third place in the last match, she had one win and Andrew didn’t, so she won the second place prize of $50,000. Andrew picked up $25,000. Victoria also got a spot in the Masters Tournament. She won $500,000 in that one!
