Here’s a summary of the clues on The Best Ever Trivia Show for Friday, August 2, 2019 with host Sherri Shepherd. Today’s episode title is “Flattery Will Get You Everywhere.”

The format of this show pits 3 contestants against 3 trivia experts. There are 3 rounds and the player with the highest score wins $1,000 and moves on to the Ultimate Trivia Challenge for a chance to win $10,000. They give one player a choice of categories and a choice of experts to play against. It’s a multiple choice format.

John, Patricia and Barry
John is a 2x champ. He has won $20,000 and could be the first player to win a total of $30,000 and make the expert team if he is victorious today.

In Round 1, John chose HORSES instead of The 1980s and he chose expert Jonathan. 4 questions, 50 points for each correct answer and double if Jonathan gets it wrong.

In Round 3, Patricia chose SPIES and not Physics. The twist in this 3-question round is the expert reveals how confident s/he is about the answer and the players have a chance to go with that for 200 points or to pick their own answer for 400 points, if right. Arianna is this round’s expert.

Barry pulled off a tie with Arianna on that last question and he gets to play the Ultimate Trivia Question chosen by the experts before the show. He does not have to beat Arianna on this one. He just has to get it right.

    This was a very surprising outcome that I did not anticipate. John’s undoing imo was the second round. Selecting the Famous Women category instead of the 1980s category was a big mistake for him because he got zero correct out of three.

    We have to start all over again to see if there will be a new expert added to the team.

      I agree, Jacob. He couldn’t have won after that even if he went with Chuck Barris for the alleged CIA assassin. LOL!

        The Price is Right was a weird choice. As popular as that show has been over the years that would have been in the news. Sometimes the process of elimination works with clues when you don’t know the response.
