Golden Knights Beat Jets to Advance to Round 2 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs

Chandler Stephenson scored a pair of goals and Laurent Brossoit had 29 saves as the Vegas Golden Knights beat the Winnipeg Jets 4-1 on April 27th in Las Vegas in their first round Stanley Cup playoff series. With the win, the Golden Knights won the series 4-1 and became the first team to advance to the second round.

Last year, the Golden Knights missed the playoffs for the first time in their brief (six season) history. Vegas made it all the way to the Finals in the team’s first season back in 2017-18 before losing to Washington in five games. The playoff miss last year evidently lit a fire under the Golden Knights, as they finished as the top seed in the Western Conference with 111 points. Vegas will play the winner of the Edmonton-Los Angles series in the second round. The Oilers lead that one 3-2.
