Ghost Your Baby Recap: Shameless

In the third episode of Shameless Season 6 (1/24/2016), Fiona confides in Debbie that she is pregnant and now wants them to have abortions at the same time. Fiona also goes to see her husband, Gus. Carl gets new customers at school and Prof Youens gets Ian a job at Lip’s college.

Frank and Debbie

Debbie is all excited after learning that Fiona is pregnant. She wants their babies to grow up together and thinks that will make it easier for her to finish high school. Fiona can watch both babies while she’s in school. Debbie tells Frank. He proceeds to teach her the ins and outs of living off the government, and says they will make Fiona have her baby. Frank plans an inter-bortion (trademark pending). Here’s what was totally weird — Fiona just found out she is pregnant and, all of a sudden, practically throughout the entire episode, she was throwing up. In fact, the episode started with her puking out the window on Frank’s head, while he was having breakfast with the family he rented the yard to after they got foreclosed on.

Fiona confided to V that she wasn’t sure whose baby it was. Sean… maybe Gus… possibly Jimmy. Gus just happened to have a gig in town and Fiona went with Vee because she felt guilty after Debbie said she ghosted her husband and now she wants to ghost her baby. Her stated intention was to end things in a better way and give Gus back his grandmother’s ring. Gus said he was glad to see her and that he wrote her a song. You have to wonder what would have gone down if it was some kind of miss you song, but Gus let her have it with his rendition of “The F Word.” And she just sat there while he very graphically let the entire house in on her cheating ways, and this after pointing her out as his wife to the audience! She kept grandma’s ring.

As for Sean, he knew something was screwy and pressed Fiona about where she was going. LOL. This guy! He shoots up heroin on the down low and then tells Fiona after the fact but he thinks it’s wrong for anyone else to be anything less than on the level with him. Well, she finally did tell Sean about her pregnancy after Debbie came home and begged her to support her decision to have her baby. Fiona told Debbie that she will not support her or her baby and Debbie won’t even live with her if she has the kid. “You are on your own if you do this.” Then she told Sean that he has no vote in her decision to have an abortion and the baby might not even be his.

Sean just asked if she wanted to walk with him to make a bank deposit. They returned to find an eviction notice on the door. The Gallagher homestead is being foreclosed on, too.

Carl and Nick

Carl continues to try to put the moves on his hottie classmate Dominique, who explains to Carl that the reason she is not into him is because of his ghetto boy act. The principal calls him to his office. Oh, don’t worry, Carl is not about to get expelled. The principal just wants to buy a gun. And so does the rest of the faculty. When a tray gets dropped in the cafeteria, the principal and all other faculty members in there pull out their pieces at the same time.

Carl and Nick take Liam to Dominique’s house to prove to her that Carl is black, but Dominique’s father laughs in Carl’s face and threatens them with a baseball bat and they vamoose. Carl gives up but Dominique really does like him. She just doesn’t like the ghetto boy act. Will Carl lose the cornrows and learn Shakespeare?

Ian and Lip in Ghost Your Baby

Ian reports to Lip’s college for his new job in maintenance and gets put on trash detail because he’s low man on the totem pole. Obviously, he doesn’t fit in at all. He’s too smart for the maintenance job and too dumb to hang out with Lip and Joaquin when they are talking quantum physics. He also gets mad when he finds out that he can’t share Lip’s room and gets in a fistfight with Lip. Joaquin breaks it up and Ian runs off. Later, on the overpass, he witnesses an accident where a lady is trapped in her car that is going up in flames. He manages to pull her out of the car and the next thing he knows, a handsome firefighter is standing over him asking him his name and giving him oxygen.

And speaking of accidents, Yanis is paralyzed after Kevin mistakenly cut his brake line and his motorcycle was hit by a car. While Kev wallows in guilt, Yanis is plotting revenge against whoever did it. First he thinks it was one of the Lisas, but to prevent Kev from confessing, V tells him the Lisas were out of town that day. Yanis then blames the lawyer on the corner. V tells Kev to get over his guilt. He’s really a hero, she says, and has done the neighborhood a favor now that Yanis can’t come outside.
