After the 2-week Teachers Tournament and Powers Player Week, we at last returned to the regular games and our 5x champ, Buzzy Cohen. He did not disappoint his fans, winning 4 more games. 3 of them were runaways and Buzzy took the opportunity in FJ to write what Alex Trebek called “pithy little putdowns,” but our host was only pretending pique. In his Vanity Fair interview, Buzzy says: “… after either the Monday or Tuesday show I was like, ‘Hey, I’m just joking around. I hope it doesn’t bother you.’ And he was like, ‘Oh, no, no, it’s all good.’”
Erin Delaney terminated Buzzy’s reign on Friday and she had the highest daily payday for the whole week. Ironically, Buzzy’s biggest finish came on the day he lost. Easiest FJ clues this week: Wed. (unless you didn’t know that Toni is the most common nickname for Antoinette) Buzzy had that lone right answer, and on Friday, everyone got it.
Here is Buzzy’s “Good Morning America” that aired Friday morning before his last game. Buzzy’s “pithy putdowns” were cute but the $200 clue in this video “Some say smug. Some say sexy.” is just the best.
“…(unless you didn’t know that Toni is the most common nickname for Antoinette)”— I didn’t. When I think of the name Antoinette, I think French. And a breakfast cereal mascot has a family? Really? 🙂
What’s next for a FJ clue, the year Tony the Tiger got married? 🙂
probably not, probably Poppin’ Fresh’s daughter, Bun Bun. LOL. (I put a link in the recap giving Geoffrey the Giraffe’s daughter’s name that goes to a Mental Floss article with the families of 10 advertising characters. Here’s the link again)
I appreciate the effort, VJ, I really really do but…no, thanks! LOL! Under waterboarding threats, (and never have I ever thought I’d say this), I’d prefer to read about the Kardashians… OMG!
LOL. That is quite an extreme example. :):)
Back in the day, I used to have cereal UPC codes and boxtops up the kazoo, sending away for all that “free stuff.” I remember one thing we got was a Pac-Man watch. We were out at a restaurant and the alarm on the thing went off and I didn’t know how to turn it off. ha ha ha
LOL! If that had happened nowadays, a video of you “disturbing the peace” would surface out of nowhere and…well, collective lunacy would ensue. 🙂
