Season 39 started with a set of Final Jeopardy! clues that were fairly kind to the contestants. There was one triple stumper on Thursday and there was one triple solve on Wednesday. So right there you have the hardest and easiest. The other three clues produced 2 out of 3 correct responses and that’s pretty good. The triple stumper was the hardest for me. However, the easiest was Monday’s clue about the bells.
Luigi de Guzman returned on Monday for his second game and by Thursday, he was a 5x winner and the first person to qualify for the 2023 Tournament of Champions. Things might not have played out that way when Luigi was not in the lead going into Final Jeopardy! on Tuesday. Challenger April was in the lead but she made a mistake when writing down her bet, so Luigi retained his title. Then on Friday, history sort of repeated itself when Luigi was in the lead but failed to bet enough to win the game, handing the victory to Emmett Stanton.
Here is the highlight video from Friday’s game (9/16/2022).
