WHO IS “THE GODFATHER”?

In the opening scene of “The Godfather” (1972), Amerigo Bonasera (Salvatore Corsitto) asks Vito Corleone (Marlon Brando) for justice for his daughter, who was brutally beaten in an attempted rape. According to Sicilian tradition, the Godfather cannot refuse a favor because it is his daughter’s wedding day. The question of why Bonasera went to the police first leads up to the famous line: “What have I ever done to make you treat me so disrespectfully?” The majority of the actors in “The Godfather” were from the New York area. Salvatore Corsitto was actually born in Sicily.

Another clue from the book: ($400) In chapter 1 of this novel, Amerigo Bonasera tells his wife, “For justice we must go on our knees to Don Corleone”

Evelyn bet $1,500. She finished with $6,100.

Barbara bet $3,800. That brought her up to $13,600.

Andrew bet $6,801. He won the game with $19,601 and he is the new Jeopardy! champ.

Oh my goodness. Andrew just literally destroyed Evelyn’s defense, and as a result, he is the new Jeopardy! champion. The clock resets back to 0 and Jeffrey Schwarz is still in the hunt.

Well, this week has been a roller coaster ride with two Two time winners winning 35000 dollars and 52000 dollars. Another triple solve today by all contestants which is what I like to see more of next week. Despite the low scores, I really wish that the contestants would nail the daily doubles instead of getting them wrong, VJ. Also @John, @VJ, and @Rhonda, any of you guys watched the Godfather or The Sopranos? James Gandolfini and Marlon Brando were great as mobsters. Shame that Evelyn had trouble getting some rhythm going today but at least I really hope Andrew can get a streak going for the month of october.

That FJ was so easy that one assumes they would all have known it without Trebek reading the phrase in his Brando impression. @Lou, I read “The Godfather” before the film came out and saw it several times in the theater. Then it was on TV a lot. I watched “The Sopranos” a lot, esp after I moved down here. Bada-bing-bada-boom!

@John, I got the Star-Telegram clue because you often use the phrase “living in Paradise”

That’s what we call it….whether it’s true, the jury is still out. There ARE setbacks living in the middle of nowhere but overall I think we are pretty well off compared to the mainland, leave alone Alaska. … At least on Maui. You couldn’t pay me to live in Honolulu…..a complete disaster and the county of Honolulu government…..crooks to the Nth degree to use another clue…..
Ours are just stupid :):):) Maine or so sounds kind of nice…..

      • VJ says:

LOL, Rhonda, dat’s right. When I first moved down here, I felt like a fish outta water and it made me feel better to watch The Sopranos
