And that was the end of this round with 3 clues left uncovered. Catherine finished in the lead with $7,200. Christian was next with $6,200 and Heather was in third place with $2,200.

Only ONE of the contestants got Final Jeopardy! right.

WHO IS MARY I (MARY TUDOR)?

“The first queen to rule England in her own right, she was known as ‘Bloody Mary’ for her persecution of Protestants in a vain attempt to restore Catholicism in England. Mary was born at Greenwich on 18 February 1516, the only surviving child of Henry VIII and Catherine of Aragon.” (BBC.UK: History)

Mary’s mother was a Spanish princess, born near Madrid in December 1485. Her parents were King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella.

Heather thought it was Mary, Queen of Scots (born in Linlithgow, Scotland. Her mother, Mary de Guise, was born in France). She lost her $2,000 bet and ended up with $200.

Christian thought it was Queen Elizabeth I. (She and her mother, Anne Boleyn, were born in England). He bet and lost everything.

Catherine got it right after crossing out the mom’s name. She bet $5,201 and won the game with $12,401.

So Catherine Ruth Hardee is our second new champ of the week. During the chat, she talked about how she got her middle name (that’s how we know it). Her father handed out Baby Ruth candy instead of cigars when she was born.

Christian could have won this game if he hadn’t been so timid with his DDs. He bet half the normal face value of the clue both times — even though he had a healthy lead. Lordy! Two chances for a runaway bro!

Mary I was also Mary Tudor. Jeopardy did NOT get it wrong…..

Jeopardy didn’t get this wrong. I guess you guys just didn’t notice the book next to the info part that clearly says “Mary Tudor”?

The Mary Tudor who was Queen of France was Henry VIII’s sister. He named his daughter Mary after her. Just like there were two Henry Tudors (VII and VIII) there were two Mary Tudors. You can see all the Tudors on the Tudor family tree

Indeed Mary Tudor and Mary I of England were two different people. Mary Tudor was Queen of France for a few months and Mary I was Queen of England for years unil her half sister Elizabeth became Queen Elizabeth I. Mary I ‘s parents were King Henry VIII and Catharine of Aragon spanish princess. I cant believe Jeopardy got this wrong …… who do we tell ? Lol !

Everything I’m finding says that Mary Tudor and Mary I are two different people. Mary I is known as “bloody mary” and her mother was in fact born near Madrid. However Mary Tudor’s mother was not born near Madrid, she was born at Westminster. I think Jeopardy got this one wrong, I can’t believe it.
