I was 3/3 on DD, but missed FJ. As I’m not a Cohen fan, I only thought of Germany.

The first DD, I thought of a “cobalt salted explosive”, from Star Trek. The second, that was easily decoded. The third, even though I speak French, and studied Latin for 4 years, was very easy for me, because I’m a math nerd! Also, I have a savant like gift, where I can look at a number of 3 or 4 digits, and tell you if it is prime or not. I don’t know why, I can just do it!

Impressive. I like the little trick in which you add up the individual digits in a number and that will tell you if it’s evenly divisible by 3. Let’s see how good you are when you’re no longer in your “prime”. (I’m well past mine) 🙂

Very cool, Jason. My youngest grandson is very gifted in math, too. I’m awful at math but I do know my French numbers. I’ve watched beaucoup French videos to try to be able to say the years in conversation as well as I can in English. What the heck for, I don’t know. 🤣

      • Jason says:

Keep it to yourself, but, if your grandson says how beautiful numbers are, you have a budding scholar there. You’re rightfully proud – not everyone will be a pro athlete or arts person, but brains will get you everywhere!!

And numbers are my bugbear in any language besides English. I got my BA in 1992 – nineteen ninety two. Ou, en Français – Dix neuf cent quatre-vingt douze! You tell me which is simpler!

Fantastic finish. Hebah was her own worst enemy but rebounded fairly well. Steven, who looked debonair in his black suit, was unfazed throughout and worked his way into a big lead after hesitating his way through those DDs. The 3rd one was easy, you just had to start at 99 and count backwards. He reminded me too much of Matt Amodio with his “What’s” prelude to most of his responses.

I have a beautiful young acquaintance originally from Kazakhstan, but that didn’t help me a bit. I did see the first film but not the 2nd. Surprised no one got the Northern Islands or the Kingdom clues. Definitely knew the home run record total, although I recognize only Aaron Judge’s non-prime 62 as the true record. The others who exceeded that were all juicers.

It was another great game, and Steven Olson emerged as the new Jeopardy champ. Congratulations! As for the FJ, I went with the Bahamas, but Canada?
