WHAT IS 2 OF ARMSTRONG, ALDRIN & COLLINS?

Here’s one of the NASA FACTS on this page with a little collection of space tidbits: “Have you ever heard of “Armalcolite”? Armalcolite is a mineral that was discovered at Tranquility Base by the Apollo 11 crew. It was named for ARMstrong, ALdrin and COLlins, the three Apollo 11 astronauts.”

The Moon Rock article on Wikipedia also has some interesting info, such as how the samples collected during lunar expeditions are considered priceless, while private collectors sell and trade lunar meteorites that fall to earth. The Armalcolite article says that although the mineral was found on the Moon first, it was later found on Earth in the USA (Montana and Texas), Germany, Greenland, Mexico, South Africa, Spain, Ukraine and Zimbabwe. It was also detected in lunar meteorites found in Oman.

Elizabeth got it right with Armstrong & Collins. She bet $5,000 and finished with $11,000.

Daniel was unable to come up with anyone. He lost his $4,401 bet, leaving him $11,999.

Matt also got it right with Armstrong & Aldrin. He bet $1,000 and won the game with $36,200. Matt Amodio’s 20-day total is $678,801. With that, Matt passes Jason Zuffranieri’s 19-game streak and ties with Julia Collins’ 20-game record. (Matt has already passed them both in winnings.) We’ll be seeing that great big smile at the end of tomorrow’s game if he beats Julia’s streak.

Matt has been a very worthy Champion throughout his run. There have been several times a category or opponent has rattled him ,but he has kept his composure through the match .My Wife and I have cheered Matt on since his first Game win.. Such a Great representative for the Game .

  2. Howard says:

Daniel was quite smart, so it was shocking that he missed FJ, which was a relative cinch. If you couldn’t deduce it from the name, the 1969 part of the clue was a huge giveaway. For a while there, I thought it was not going to be a runaway game.

That said, I thought Monday’s Final might have been Pennsylvania, considering William Penn’s background, so never gave any thought to Roger Williams/Rhode Island.

  3. Elan Xu says:

He won 20 games just like Julia Collins did and was the 4th contestant to win at least 20 games.

  4. Sharon Conness says:

I could not find the show. What time is it on now.

  5. Albert says:

Was there a studio audience? I missed the show.

I thought Daniels “multivitamins” answer should have beem accepted. Some one needs to look up the exact wording but i think it started with spmething like .. “These twelve-letter items….” It didnt necessarily mean the answer had to be twelve letters – was ambiguously worded – even thougj we all know what was intended. Would have made the game a non- runaway going into final.

Well at least Matt’s opponents have gotten an early lead on their daily doubles as they followed his example. I am just happy to see matt surpassing Jason and Julia’s totals. Furthermore, Danny almost had a lock on this game but still though if he came up with either Aldrin or Armstrong he would have covered Elizabeth. The Moon Landing must have been a big event in the news previously VJ. You’ve seen that on television in the past right?

From today’s game in my opinion matt was gracious enough and not hog all the daily doubles himself. Although in some of his previous plays he had nailed two or maybe three of them when he didn’t have strong opponents. What do you think @Jacob and @Rhonda?
