Adam found the Jeopardy! round Daily Double in “Celebrities Who Read Aloud” under the $800 with 7 clues left after it. He was in second place with $3,000, $400 less than Mary Catherine and Will’s tied lead. Adam bet $2,000 and said “David Copperfield”. That was WRONG.
Patrick Stewart had a Dickens of a time performing this classic as a one-man show & as an audio book show
Mary Catherine finished in the lead with $5,400. Will was second with $5,000 and Adam was last with $3.000. All clues were shown.

Adam found the first Daily Double in “Arlington National Cemetery” under the $1,200 clue on the 1st pick of the round. He was in last place with $3,000, $2,400 less than Mary Catherine’s lead. Adam made it a true Daily Double and said 0800. That was WRONG.

Adam found the last Daily Double in “Dr. Ken” under the $1,200 clue on the 17th pick of the round. He was in second place with $5,200 now, $6,600 less than Will’s lead. Adam bet $3,000 and thought it was tarsals. That was WRONG.

Will finished in the lead with a runaway of $17,000. Adam was second with $6,600 and Mary Catherine was last with $4,600. All clues were shown.

WHAT ARE THE RED CROSS & RED CRESCENT?
Just cross & crescent probably works, too
In the mid-19th century, a humanitarian movement to give medical aid to all soldiers wounded in battle, ally or foe, led to the 1864 Geneva Convention. The Red Cross was the original symbol that unified the movement under the name International Committee of the Red Cross. All participating countries agreed to respect and not interfere with Red Cross workers.
The cross, an inverted replica of the Swiss flag, was supposed to symbolize neutrality, a story some believe was invented. (See Wikipedia.) Muslim countries thought its soldiers would take it for a Christian symbol so they adopted the Red Crescent, made official in 1929. These symbols were claimed to simply mean “protection”, disregarding their obvious religious connections. Other countries, like Israel, used their own symbols unofficially. In 2005, in an effort to resolve these squabbles once and for all, the diamond-shaped Red Crystal was adopted.
Mary Catherine had a star and couldn’t finish crescent. It was wrong either way so she lost $3,000 and finished with $1,600.
Adam only had a big question mark. That cost him $2,601 and left him with $3,999.
Will had a shout out. He lost his $3,000 bet but won the game with the remaining $14,000. Will Weiss is the new Jeopardy! champ.

When I watched Adam performing on Jeopardy!, I found out that voice sounds a lot like David Muir on ABC.
We didn’t seem to get Jeopardy/Wheel at all because of debate coverage.
FJ stumped me, as did 2/3 DDs (got the time one). Blew the Noel Coward play by putting an “s” at the end. The Swedish playwright wasn’t that tough, neither was the 4-consonant word for laughing. According to the recap, they nailed all 5 of the Mafia clues; I’d have guessed that a couple might have been stumpers. Only one I didn’t know was the film title.
I got FJ. I recalled my med school classmate, who is a Reform Jew. He also, then, at least, was outspoken, while not being a loudmouth. He told me of Magen David Adom, and Ken deftly avoided mentioning that. I said “cross and crescent”, so, I hope they would have taken it!
2/3 on DD, but only about 1/3 on TS. I said the same thing as Adam, 0800.
I think Adam had too many snap answers. Maybe a little bit of reflection before responding may have helped. Nonetheless, congrats to Will!
I’m pretty sure just ‘cross and crescent’ would have been fine, Jason. To the best of my recollection, the clue has to have the word ‘colorful’ in the clue or category for a color to be required
A good game overall, ;but things unfortunately didn’t work out well for Adam. As for me, I did a little above average, but the FJ was a toughie.
I liked Mary Catherine’s squirrel story.
Our first epic fail of wagering clues of the new season since Adam missed all 3 DDs resulted our first skunking of the season plus a tough final resulted a triple stumper. I’m sure William Weyser will say darn those daily doubles to Adam.
I did. Not only that, on the last clue in Double Jeopardy!, Mary Catherine realized at the end that she needed to guess, in order to have a shot against Will. She took a stab. Didn’t get it. Adam didn’t recognize it. You have to be aware of your situation and take a stab. If you get it right, you might as wager everything in FJ! and hope that Will has bad luck. If you get it wrong, the game is over.
First triple stumper of the new season. Only the 2nd episode of Season 41 and we already have our first triple stumper. Mary Catherine did a smart thing to take a stab on the last clue to break Will’s runaway and it didn’t work out.
