Two clues later, Patrick got the last Daily Double in “Journey Through Israel” under the $1,600 clue. In second place with $15,800, he now had $200 less than Ben’s lead. He bet $300 and had no idea so he was WRONG.

WHAT IS A POO-BAH?
In Gilbert & Sullivan’s comic opera, THe Mikado (1885), takes place in the fictional Japanese town of Titipu. The ruler is the Mikado. When an ex-tailor named Ko-Ko is appointed the Lord High Executioner, all the town officials resign and the Poo-Bah takes on all their jobs and salaries as the Lord High Everything Else. The Poo-Bah describes himself as “a particularly haughty and exclusive person” who “was born sneering.” He claims that although the positions revolt him, he does it. Today in Masonic History has more on the topic, including how Grand Poobah turned up in “The Flintstones” and “Happy Days”.
In his Political Dictionary, William Safire defines poo-bah as a “big shot; pompous functionary. A huffing and puffing sound surrounds the word, imitative of the “high MUCKEY-MUCKS” it derogates”
Cathy wrote down “major general” but crossed it out and had no response. She bet and lost it all.
Patrick came up with “tigger”, another Milne character besides Pooh Bear. He lost $2,000, dropping him down to $13,500.
Ben got it right. He bet $10,201 and won the game with $31,001. That gave him a 2-day total of $51,802.

We had a different show here again, VJ. It was a Tournament of Champions game. The FJ category was Ancient History: A messenger was sent from Athens to Sparta just before this 490 B.C. battle. Very odd.

Yes, very odd indeed, Rhonda. Last week, it was the 11/1/19 game they were showing you guys. Now they showed the very next game of that season (11/4/19, as Darius mentioned) If this trend continues, they’ll be showing the 11/5/19 game next Monday (the second quarter-final game of the 2019 ToC). Yikes!

Congrats to Ben for his win! Also, will Matt Amodio sweep another week when Season 38 begins? We will have to see. For now though, we shall finish the repeats.
