Not a banner night for me. Got the first DD and Final, no stumpers (but should have known the NY troupe, I’ve seen them enough times). Had I not lived in NYC long ago, I might not have known Final. I don’t recall ever seeing it up close. Andrew all but disappeared in the 2nd round. Considering her competition, Gerri rebounded decently.

Scott is edging closer to an average $ total like Ken’s (which was about $33K/win). He’s nearing $30K. I have to assume Holzhauer holds the record for biggest one-day win and highest average win.

  2. Rick says:

As usual, it was another runaway for Scott as he left both of the challengers far behind. No, none of us ever heard of the Flatiron Building.

  3. Trevor Panno says:

Gerri had the same numbers as Scott but Gerri was missing another 2 in her score.

All these runaway wins are rather boring. Impressive by Scott, but I’d like to see a competitive game once in a while.

At some point with a player like Scott, I start feeling bad for the players who are getting mowed down. I wonder if they could come up with a new ToC system, like have a 5 to 10 game winners tournament and an 11 to 25 game tournament.

Retiring them after 25 games seems like a good move to me.

  5. Kevin Cheng says:

Scott is now #8 in the all-time winnings. He becomes the first 15 day champion since Adriana of last season. Only 2 more games left this season. Scott will face off against two new players in Season 41’s penultimate game.
