Happy Birthday🎂 indeed of the GOATs (GREATEST OF ALL TIME) game show hosts

Chuck was a skilled player with five wins. And thanks to his strategic playing, everyone else followed his advice or some tried it and were unable to string together four or more wins as that won’t always work. Still though great game played so far. When did the number of game wins increase in jeopardy, VJ?

    • VJ says:

Well, he wasn’t the first 5-day winner, Lou. The record he set was for most money won up till then. $72,800. That was on a board with clues half the value that they are now. They doubled the clue values sometime in 2001 and they eliminated the 5-game limit in 2003

and that made quite a difference. with the five day limit you had new players against each other every few days. it is a huge advantage to have already played. plus, without having to wait for the blue lights to come on after Alex finishes the question, you could gamble on the early questions and just ring right in and figure out the answer while Alex was still reading it.
