Strong game with formidable contenders. As Kevin said, that last clue (the Flemish diamond city) made the difference. I ran several Mideast cities through my head, including Beirut, and tried matching them with German cities, but could not settle on one.

Unbelievable how Mark missed that softball “Forest Service” DD. Ages ago we were taught a mnemonic for the order of the Cabinet departments, which is now outdated. ST DAPIACL + HUT.

I thought the Familiar Sums clues were fun and easy to decipher.

It seemed like Mark’s DD answer was on the tip of his tongue but he just couldn’t get it out. I was over here yelling “just say it, just say it, even if you’re not sure,” but his time ran out. He didn’t seem to be able to regain his footing after that. Dommage.

Meantime, Colleen initially looked like she wasn’t going to be able to get a buzz in edgewise, but she got in there and showed her chops. I was rooting for her.

Mark was very charismatic. So, I looked him up on IMDB. Then, it clicked – he was on “Blood and Treasure” just two or three years ago. B&T had two seasons on CBS. He played “Father Chuck”, who ends up with Vatican Intelligence (“which doesn’t exist!”).

I really didn’t have a clue on Final, but the first city that came to mind was Beirut! 3/3 for DD. I knew the first one because I used to drive through a national forest on my way to my last job, so, I knew that department!

Colleen was somewhat of a “stealth” contestant. Didn’t hear anything, then, all of a sudden, she’s in the lead!

    Overall, good game!

All 3 DDs were missed resulted our ninth skunking of the season. The DDs were not nice to anybody today.

Darn those daily doubles to both challengers today. We went 0 for 3 on those daily doubles. Had Colleen not missed that last DJ! clue, she would have won but instead Adriana won again. Adriana keeps dodging a bullet in the end and keeps winning. Last week and so far this week, the challengers put up a huge fight and gave the champ a strong run for her money.
