Katie found the first Daily Double in “Historic Objects” under the $1,600 clue on the 13th pick of the round. She was in second place with $4,800, $3,600 less than Sarah’s lead. Katie bet $2,000 and came up with Booth. That was way WRONG.

Sarah found the last Daily Double in “World Geography” under the $1,200 clue on the 16th pick of the round. She was in the lead with $9,600, $6,800 more than Katie in second place. Sarah bet $3,000 and she was RIGHT.

WHAT IS “JAWS”?
In the summer of 1974, Allison Maher moved to New York City to work for the prominent Wilhelmina model agency. One of her very first assignments was to pose for the cover of Peter Benchley’s bestseller, “Jaws”. Newbie though she was, she didn’t have to compete for the assignment as the powers that be directly requested her. Later, the iconic cover was used for the movie poster. Allison married businessman and philanthropist Leonard Stern in 1987. Currently, she is a trustee and vice-chairman of the Wildlife Conservation Society, the parent of the Bronx Zoo.
Allison is not the same person who portrayed the shark’s first victim while her boyfriend was passed out on the beach. That was Susan Backlinie (as Chrissie), who died on 5/11/24 at age 77. (per the Daily Jaws)
Tom came up with “The Wide Sargasso Sea”. He lost $800 and finished with $3,200.
Katie had no response. She lost $3,000 and finished with $2,600.
Sarah got it right. She only bet $50 so she won the game with $15,050. Sarah Cox is the new Jeopardy champ!

Had a mostly miserable night including the DDs, but got FJ right away. My only concern was I thought maybe the book came out prior to 1974, because the movie was in 1975. Sarah was sharp, quick, composed, and all business.
Knew the “Blow Out” director (loved that movie), the OT game-winner, that’s about it. Tough night.
2/3 on DD, and got FJ.
Got about half the TS.
It was a rather lower scoring affair. Katie was quickly left behind. Tom was further. But, I did notice that, after winning, Sarah did step over to shake hands with Katie and Tom. Classy move.
It was another great game with a freebie thrown in for FJ. In addition, Sarah did exceptionally well, and emerged as the new Jeopardy champion. Well done Sarah!
