Wow – Michelle was so charismatic! Had she gotten FJ, she would have won. Both wagers were quizzical.

I was 3/3 on DD, but missed FJ. I said the Oak Ridge Boys.

I was about 50% on TS.

I concur on Michelle over Keegan for 2nd Chance.

I’m OK with her FJ wager. She trailed Dan by $3600 going in. $3601 would have been a wise bet, but $5K was OK. Dan was more or less compelled to bet $10K, but he crossed her up. Either way, she wins the game with a correct answer. Her guess of Springsteen was lame. No way could he have had nominations 60 years apart. Rolling Stones was a great guess by Dan.

Ah, the occasional perks of old age! I knew the first Grammys were in 1959. Simple arithmetic took me to 1965 and of course I knew who the best new artist of 1964 was (same year I saw them live). Their subsequent nominations were for posthumous recordings that commenced when all were still alive. “Free As a Bird” is OK but I preferred the flip side, “Real Love.” And “Michelle” won for Song of the Year in 1967 even though it was strictly an album cut.

Michelle made a valiant comeback after tanking that embarrassingly easy DD. Third one also a cinch in the L-M category. Very surprised three smart folks never heard of Pablo Casals or the exact name of the Seattle market. Have known Caryn Johnson’s stage name for decades.

Hmmm……..It was another fantastic game, and Dan became the new champion. With a sizeable lead that Dan held, and considering the category, I wouldn’t have wagered anything either in FJ. Anyways, I also went with the Rolling Stones in FJ.

Coincidentally, I posted the Record of the Year for 1965 on X last Friday in the song challenge I play everyday. It was “The Girl from Ipanema” by Astrud Gilberto & Stan Getz.

I’d give Michelle a Second Chance before Keegan from yesterday. She played her butt off against a strong player who is a trivia host to boot. Keegan did himself in yesterday.

And we got our second triple stumper this week as today’s final was tough. The contestants don’t even know about music.
