Well, the ’14 roles’ in FJ threw me as I was certainly aware of the 1957 film ‘Twelve Angry Men’. In fact, I watched that film several times in the past. Anyways, I sure wish that the champion wouldn’t get so emotional after winning the games. In any case, I missed part of Single Jeopardy since the channel was preempted by a local thunderstorm/tornado warning for Michigan.

For Final, I said “The Book of Mormon”. However, the last Broadway show I saw was in 2010 (the opera doesn’t count, esp because, not on Broadway!) (The Book of Mormon opened in 2011.)

I said to myself, hand to God, “I’ll bet Howard’s wife would have known who founded the Society of Jesus!”

Man, it started to stress me a scoche how delayed Ivvone was in selecting categories. I think that was part of why all clues were not uncovered in the second round.

Otherwise, agree heartily with the rest of y’all!

Regarding the fj clue I was not familiar with the Broadway version. However the number “14” and no females sealed the deal for me. I have watched the old movie version many times on old movie TV channels. I don’t think I could sit through a Broadway version of the movie though. We like lively & upbeat Broadway shows.

I didn’t think it would be a stumper for the young contestants because too many young people have told us they like to watch old b/w movies on TV. They are fascinated with the telephone booths and the long cars back in the day. 🤣

As VJ said, Gregg all but sealed his ultimate fate with that too-large wager, then blew FJ. Somehow I came up with Final fairly quickly. Saw the movie ages ago. I was impressed that two of them got it.

Grant’s multiple miscues somehow didn’t matter in the long run. Both challengers gave a good account of themselves. Someone should have known the Sandwich Islands state and the rags-to-riches author. And the counting steps of a waltz were kind of obvious, especially with the “last New Year’s Eve” wordage. An acquaintance of mine got married on Jan 1 so he’d never forget his anniversary. I knew the numbers of the Reconstruction Amendments, but didn’t realize that’s what they were going for. I bet my wife would have known who founded the Society of Jesus. We have a school by that name in our city.

I came up with The Fully Monty lol.

  6. VJ says:

It looked like Grant was so worried that Gregg was going to win, so he (Grant) kept buzzing in to try and get the lead.

Gregg fixed that with his $6K DD miss. I begged him not to do it. There weren’t enough clues left to cover it if he was wrong. Well, ultimately, it didn’t matter because he got FJ! wrong.

Grant is the first player to win a game with at least 10 incorrect responses since Ryan Fenster on 1/31/2018. Grant is also the first player to win a game with 11 incorrect since Jack Lechner on December 1, 1988. It was a crazy game today with a total of 17 incorrect responses in this game.
