WHAT IS DEVILS TOWER?

Devils Tower in Wyoming has quite a few nicknames, most of them having to do with bears. According to the National Park Service, from 1857 to 1901, “Mato Tipila” was translated on most maps as “Bear Lodge” or “Bears Lodge”. “Bad god’s tower” was a mistranslation of one of the formation’s indigenous names. 1/3 on DD, and got FJ. Final came to me in an instant, maybe because I couldn’t name any others! But, it sure don’t look like a tipi to me!

    Got about 40% of TS.

    • Travis says:

I guessed final right too, although I was second guessing myself because like you said it doesn’t look like a tipi lol. It is grey though.

  2. Howard says:

Didn’t get to watch, but (I rarely get to say this) I nailed all 3 DDs and easily got FJ. Teddy Roosevelt was really into national monuments and parks, and 1906 was a big hint. The Black Sea port was a gimme. Most hoops fans would know the bearded player, same for tennis fans knowing the US Open champ. “I Want You to Want Me” is a classic from my era. The German to English title was gettable if you knew it was WWI related and by a German author.

    • VJ says:

I got a laugh when I saw “I Want You to Want Me” go TS because I knew my daughter Nikki would get that instantly — she loved that song and she is in the same age range as Mitch.

  3. Rick says:

Mitch was sharp in today’s game , and subsequently became the new Jeopardy champion. Congratulations Mitch! As for me, I didn’t do well in the game, and flubbed the FJ. Well, I’ll have to say that today’s FJ was somewhat tough per se, but it was nevertheless gettable. In fact, it sure was a far cry from yesterday’s FJ.

That’s our third triple stumper this week in the final.

  5. Kevin Cheng says:

This was an ugly week this week for Final Jeopardy! Only 3 out of 15 correct responses in Final. It’s been a tough week for the players. However, for the first time, the daily doubles were found on the first pick in each round and that’s something we never see often.
